First Horizon Foundation is the private charitable foundation of First Horizon National Corporation. The Foundation directs its charitable contributions in the areas of arts and culture, education and leadership, environment, financial literacy and health and human services. The general operating funds will be used to care for NTRC’s herd of 14 therapy horses as well its programs which include therapeutic riding, a summer camp, a mini horse outreach program, a horsemanship program for Veterans, equine-facilitated psychotherapy and equine-facility learning. “Our rider families face many challenges, said NTRC Executive Director Martin de St. Pierre. “The life we take for granted is a struggle for them every day.” The non-profit receives no state, local or federal support and relies on donations and grants such as this to expand its programs. “As equine therapy continues to advance and awareness of its many, proven benefits grows, we must work with our generous partners to expand our services so that we help more people in need,” added de St. Pierre. “Through community support such as this, together we can improve the lives of children and adults with autism, behavioral and speech problems, multiple sclerosis, cerebral palsy, dementia, PTSD, addiction and so much more.” About Naples Therapeutic Riding Center Established in 1997, Naples Therapeutic Riding Center (NTRC) is a non-profit 501(c)3 organization with a mission to improve the lives of children and adults with physical, social and mental health needs through therapeutic riding and other equine-related programs.
