Collier County Domestic Animal Services Adoption Event is Underway! August 19 & 20 Currently, nearly 500 animals at Collier County Domestic Animal Services are waiting to be adopted. DAS, located at 7610 Davis Boulevard, Naples, FL 34104, is hosting an adoption event on Friday, August 19 and Saturday, August 20, 2022. Partnering with the Collier County Sheriff's Department and WAWA, the carnival-themed event will feature food, games, prizes, and a unique opportunity to meet and adopt the cats, dogs, and rabbits in need of a permanent home. DAS encourages anyone considering adopting a new pet to visit the facility where the perfect pet is waiting for you. All adoptions are $10.00 during the event and throughout August. Each animal is spayed or neutered, vaccinated against rabies and microchipped. Cats and kittens are always, adopt one and get a second one at no additional cost. Collier County Domestic Animal Services is open Monday through Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. Collier County Domestic Animal Services (DAS) is facing the same conditions as the rest of the country; more animals are arriving and fewer are leaving, putting a strain on the county facility. Many rescue group partners are full and unable to pull any animals from the shelter. Foster families help remove some of the shelter's pressure by temporarily taking animals into their homes, but are not a permanent solution for the homeless animals in our community.
