Collier Community Foundation awards $20,000 grant to St. Vincent de Paul Naples to help provide food security and good nutrition in Collier County [Naples, June 29, 2022]. The Collier Community Foundation, with the support of a generous donor, has provided much-needed funding for local nonprofits working with the County’s economically challenged citizens in battling food insecurity. A $20,000 grant awarded to SVdP Naples will help ease food and nutrition needs for our neighbors and their families. “This grant could not have come at a better moment,” said Carl Monticelli, Director of Development for SVdP. “We’re so grateful and fortunate to be partners with the Collier Community Foundation during this time of widespread economic strife. To our neighbors receiving food assistance from these funds, this will mean an improvement in their quality of life.” The grant was provided by the Collier Community Foundation's 2022 Food & Hunger Grant cycle, which is part of the Your passion. Your Collier. campaign to address needs in mental health & substance abuse, housing & hunger, education & employment, seniors & veterans, environment & accessibility, and crisis & disaster relief. "We recognize the pandemic and inflation's effect on food insecurity, and that action is needed now," said Eileen Connolly-Keesler, President and CEO of the Collier Community Foundation. "We work with our donors to educate them on the vital needs in the community and applaud their action to care for those in need. Informed giving provides powerful results." About St. Vincent de Paul Naples SVdP is the largest Meals On Wheels facilitator in Collier County, providing over 138 meals daily, and supplying over 45,000 meals annually, to our low-income, homebound seniors. Just a few more services provided by SVdP Naples include Financial Aid to the Needy, Life Skills classes, Aid to the Homeless.
