Myers, FL – 9/21/2021– Midwest Food Bank of Florida – a volunteer-driven, faith-based organization dedicated to alleviating hunger, malnutrition and providing disaster relief locally receives generous grant award from First Horizon Foundation of Fort Myers, Florida. The partnership between Midwest Food Bank Florida and First Horizon Foundation has been evolving over many years, and remains a committed duo, helping make a real impact in the local SWFL communities. This substantial grant award towards food relief will be turned into $340,000 of food, rescued and distributed to local, hungry people in need by Midwest Food Bank Florida. “First Horizon Foundation is the private charitable foundation of First Horizon National Corporation. Founded in 1993 to serve the communities in which we operate, our Foundation has donated more than $100 million across our footprint.” https://www.firsthorizonfoundation.com/ This gift will allow Midwest Food Bank Florida to continue to create meaningful relationships and support for their 172 nonprofit partner agency organizations they support every month with food, such as local churches, schools, veteran support services, mobile kitchens and soup kitchens. “We are thankful for the First Horizon Foundation’s ongoing devotion that will allow us to support not only new partner agencies but our existing, in need populations in our community,” says Kelly Apfel, Marketing and Development Manager.
