Educators look into the future needs of Southwest Florida’s Workforce FORT MYERS, FLA: CareerSource Southwest Florida announced its Symposium II – Emerging Roles in Education, part of the three-part series called “Tomorrow’s Workforce: A Trilogy”. “Our businesses shared their workforce needs at our first Symposium,” said Peg Elmore, Business Services Director for CareerSource Southwest Florida. “At our next event, education leaders from Southwest Florida will discuss how education can meet our future workforce demands”, said Elmore. “Symposium II – Emerging Roles in Education will consist of these discussions and more”, Elmore explained. “I am very excited about Symposium II”, said Michael Dalby, President and CEO, Greater Naples Chamber of Commerce who will act as moderator. “As our economy continues to recover, it’s good timing to have this conversation where CareerSource Southwest Florida has brought SWFL’s educators together to discuss the needs and challenges ahead”, said Dalby. Elmore added, “It is nice to have the ear of Dr. Eric Hall, Senior Chancellor, Florida Department of Education, who will give opening remarks about the State of Florida’s role in meeting our workforce education needs”. “It’s important we have this discussion”, said Dr. Michael Martin, President, Florida Gulf Coast University. “We need to meet the needs of our local workforce as we all seek to build a prosperous regional economy for everyone”, said Dr. Martin.
