Last Friday, the Naples YMCA partnered with OneBlood to host a blood drive in which 47 donors, including Y staff, gave blood that goes to local hospitals. With the number of blood drive cancellations on the rise due to COVID-19, the Y provided a much needed boost.
The lifesaving efforts of the blood donors resulted in 36 units of blood, which could potentially save the lives of up to 108 patients.
OneBlood described the drive as a success and said they were incredibly grateful to the Y for helping bring awareness to the need and safety of giving blood during the pandemic.
“We’re grateful to have had this opportunity to be able to partner with OneBlood and fill a very important need right now in our communities.” – Danny Soto, Marketing Director, Greater Naples YMCA.
