All six St. Matthew’s House thrift stores and other social enterprise operations, including the St. Matthew’s House Car Wash & Detailing Center, Café M25, and Delicious by Design Catering have reopened for business. All social-distancing guidelines are being followed, including limiting store occupancy, maintaining six-feet of separation, masked employees, regular disinfecting and hand sanitizing stations. St. Matthew’s House Thrift Stores are located in Naples, Bonita Springs, Fort Myers and Immokalee, and are open Monday through Saturday. For store addresses and hours, visit STmatthewshouse.org. Donations of gently used furnishings, housewares and clothing are welcome. Free pick up of donated items is available as well as curbside drop off at all St. Matthew’s House Thrift Store locations. “We are committed to helping the most vulnerable among us to get through this challenging time,” notes St. Matthew’s House President and CEO Vann Ellison. “However, this crisis is greatly increasing the numbers of those seeking assistance, placing a significant strain on our resources. Since St. Matthew’s House derives over 60 percent of our revenue from our thrift stores and other social enterprise programs, we are grateful to be able to reopen these operations. Our social enterprises also provide invaluable job training and job opportunities in a supportive, structured environment for those participating in our programs.” For 32 years, St. Matthew’s House has provided food, shelter and comfort to those struggling with poverty, food insecurity and homelessness. St. Matthew’s House is the only emergency homeless shelter in Collier County, sheltering more than 300 men, women and children every night, and providing more than 500,000 meals each year to those in need. For those who have shelter but are food insecure, direct assistance is offered through the St. Matthew’s House food pantry and grocery distribution.
