On Thursday, November 7, 2019, Naples Zoo hosted its 3rd annual Zoo Gala to raise funds and awareness for the Zoo’s work with endangered species and their efforts to inspire young hearts to love animals and nature. With the help of Co-Chairs, Susie McCurry, Jennifer McCurry, Anita Lovse, and a dynamic committee, the 2019 Zoo Gala raised more than $1,342,000, breaking the Zoo’s fundraising record for a single event. Proceeds from Zoo Gala 2019 will be dedicated to the continuation and expansion of Naples Zoo’s conservation education programs and to the development of a new South American Trail exhibit experience that will be home to a giant anteater, capybaras, two-toed sloth, Baird’s tapirs, cotton-top tamarins, golden lion tamarins and, we are hoping, a breeding pair of endangered jaguars. Amazing new South American rainforest and grasslands animals for children in the Southwest Florida community to experience, learn about, appreciate and come face to face with right here at Naples Zoo.
