How do whales use sound waves as a weapon? How does sound travel around a room? Is it possible to see the blues? Find out when FSW faculty members Mike Malloy, audio technology professor, Dr. Elijah Pritchett, humanities professor, and Dr. Joseph van Gaalen, geology professor, present the lecture “Waves in Nature: Sound as a Wave or Waves in Water” during Florida SouthWestern State College’s (FSW) fall Research Expo at 12:45 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 23, in the FSW Thomas Edison Campus Rush Auditorium, Building J, Room 103. The Research Expo will also showcase the research several FSW students, faculty and staff have focused on throughout the semester with a poster session from 2-3 p.m. in the Building J lobby. The expo is free and open to the public. For a full event schedule and research topic listing, visit www.fsw.edu/facultystaff/ospr/lecture.
