Naples, FL – Naples Therapeutic Riding Center (NTRC), a non-profit organization providing therapeutic horseback riding and other equine-facilitated group services to children and adults with special needs, is pleased to announce that The Harvard Club of Naples has awarded a $6,500 scholarship to send NTRC Executive Director, Missy Saracino Lamont, to The Harvard Business School Executive Education Program in July. The Club will pay for the full tuition fee and room and board for the 7-day course held in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Lamont will participate in the Strategic Perspectives in Nonprofit Management, a course tailored to nonprofit Executive Directors and CEOs. The program explores proactive methods for mastering nonprofit leadership. Lamont will join hundreds of nonprofit leaders from around the world to explore methods to strengthen and improve the effectiveness of their organizations. Lamont said, “I am honored and humbled by The Harvard Club of Naples and their scholarship selection committee for their confidence in my ability to actively engage in this extraordinary educational opportunity. Together with our board of directors, I look forward to applying these proven, strategic methods at NTRC to significantly strengthen and expand our services. We currently serve over 800 participants (ages 4-82) annually with special needs, and it is our future goal to provide everyone in the community who could benefit from equine-assisted therapies access to our services.” The Harvard Club of Naples is organized and operated exclusively for educational and charitable purposes. This scholarship is one of several scholarship programs the club provides to students, principals and nonprofit leaders in Collier County. This is the sixth year The Harvard Club of Naples has awarded a scholarship for the Executive Education program. Lamont will attend the program with this year’s fellow grant recipient, Noemi Perez, Executive Director of The Immokalee Foundation. Previous grant recipients include Dr. Jaclynn Faffer President/CEO of Naples Senior Center at Jewish Family & Community Services of Southwest Florida, Leslie Lascheid, CEO of Neighborhood Health Clinic, Scott Burgess, President and CEO of David Lawrence Center, Dr. Tim Fergeson, CEO of Grace Place for Children and Families, Kaltheen van Burgen, CEO of Artis Naples, and many other worthwhile, local nonprofit leaders. Paul Huber, The Harvard Club Nonprofit Scholarship Program founding Chair, stated, “The Harvard Club of Naples is proud to be supporting such a worthwhile organization and leader. We are certain that Mrs. Lamont will be a tremendous contributor to the Executive Education Program and will make great use of the invaluable strategic perspectives, leadership skills, and practical tools the program provides to help build sustainable, high-performing organizations.”
