It is standing room only in for the Little Explorer programs at the Conservancy of Southwest Florida. “The response has been extraordinary,” said Dr. Heather Skaza Acosta, Conservancy of Southwest Florida education director. “We realized how much families were really looking for a program like Little Explorers. We are thrilled to be their resource.” The Little Explorer Play Zone is designed for children age 18 months to 5 years old. Kids crawl through Gopher Tortoise burrow, a life size Bald Eagle’s nest and participate in special Little Explorer programs. “The Little Explorer Play Zone provides us with another great venue for reaching kids through environmental education,” said Rob Moher, Conservancy President and CEO. “Environmental education is part of our core mission. Reaching these future leaders through programs such as our Little Explorers helps build life-long conservationists who will continue to protect our water, land and wildlife.” The free play is open Monday – Saturday from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. and is part of the regular Conservancy admission price.
