July 30, 2018 – FORT MYERS, FLA – Florida SouthWestern State College has named Dr. Debbie Psihountas as Dean of the School of Business and Technology for the college. She will oversee the plans and execution of educational activities and programs for the School of Business and Technology. Dr. Psihountas was most recently a professor of finance at Webster University in the Walker School of Business and Technology, and held several leadership positions over the years at Webster including MBA director, Business department chair, Interim chair of Business and Management programs at Webster’s Geneva, Switzerland campus. She’s also previously worked as adjunct faculty at several universities while also working full-time in the private sector. In 2012, she was named as an American Council on Education Fellow, and worked with the president of Ball State University for the 2012-13 academic year. She has also previously held a number of sales, consulting, and corporate leadership positions with organizations including NCR Corporation, Merrill Lynch, and Procter and Gamble. Psihountas has been recognized as a St. Louis Business Journal Most Inclusive Leader, a YMCA Women’s Leader of the Year, a 2008 Woman of Achievement by the Hellenic Spirit Foundation at the University of Missouri St. Louis, and has been a grant recipient and commencement speaker in addition to holding a number of committee chair and other leadership roles. She earned her bachelor of science degree in International Business, with honors, from Bowling Green State University, her MBA with a concentration in quantitative analysis from the University of Cincinnati, and her Ph.D. with a major in finance and a minor in real estate from the University of Cincinnati. Florida SouthWestern State College is Southwest Florida’s largest and one of the most affordable institutions of higher education.
