Marco Island, June 22, 2018: - Marco Island Center for the Arts invites the public to July’s “Big, Bold & Beautiful” exhibition. Large and powerful pieces, stunning murals, and massive canvases will envelop our Lauritzen & Rush Galleries with gallant colors and imaginative scenes. Artists Alyssa Baladad, Susan M. Gross, Betty Newman, Timothy M. Parker and Eric Walton express the “three B’s” in their artwork and outlook. Their creations will be four feet or larger showcasing a strong sense of design and an evocative use of color and light. “Big, Bold & Beautiful” will be on display from July 2 - 31, 2018, Monday – Friday, from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm. The opening reception called Second Tuesday is from 5:30 – 7:00 pm on July 10th. No reservations are required. There is a suggested $10 donation for non-members. The Taste of Arts restaurant for this month’s exhibition reception is Joey’s Pizza & Pasta, 257 North Collier Blvd, Marco Island. Art remains one of the few havens for thought in a hustle bustle world. Since 1969, Marco Island Center for the Arts has been that harbor for children and adults to explore the world of creativity whether the art is subtle or exuberant. In our La Petite Galerie, Sarasota Artist Gail Coppock explores the smaller scale of art in different mediums. In “Facets” her focus is to bring the viewer closer to each piece to see the details. Coppock believes that the wonders of the universe can be experienced just as profoundly in the little things as in the grand conceptions. All the artwork is for sale unless otherwise noted. Marco Island Center for the Arts offers a diverse array of classes for all ages. The schedule of our very popular Summer Youth Art Classes has been released. The Art Center also offers artmaking for adult students in the following areas: acrylic, clay, drawing, oil, pastels, stone, watercolor and more. Class schedules can be found www.marcoislandart.org/education. Register online or call 239-394-4221. Gift Gallery is Going Bold!
