NAPLES, FL, JUNE 13, 2018 ? Physicians Regional – Collier Blvd. recently received program accreditation from the American Academy of Sleep Medicine (AASM). To receive accreditation, a sleep center must meet or exceed all standards for professional health care as designated by the AASM. These standards address core areas such as personnel, facility and equipment, policies and procedures, data acquisition, patient care, and quality assurance. Additionally, the sleep center’s goals must be clearly stated and include plans for positively affecting the quality of medical care in the community it serves. “We are very proud to receive this accreditation as it represents our clinic’s continued commitment of providing the highest level of care to our patients,” said Eva Fish RRT-NPS, Director of Sleep Center Services at Physician Regional. “Our patients get to enjoy a beautiful setting and receive an extra layer of safety since our sleep lab is in a location where emergency services are available.” “The American Academy of Sleep Medicine congratulates Physicians Regional Sleep Center on meeting the high standards required for receiving accreditation as a sleep disorders center,” said Dr. Ilene M. Rosen, AASM president. “Physicians Regional’s Sleep Center is an important resource to the local medical community and will provide academic and scientific value in addition to the highest quality care for patients suffering from sleep disorders.” The American Academy of Sleep Medicine accredited a sleep disorders center for the first time in 1977. Today there are more than 2,500 AASM-accredited sleep centers across the country. The Physicians Regional Sleep Center is directed by Sadiq Al-Nakeeb, MD, Board Certified Sleep Medicine, Pulmonary Disease and Critical Care Medicine physician with Physicians Regional Medical Group, and Eva Fish RRT-NPS. The Sleep Center is located at 8300 Collier Blvd. For information, please visit www.physiciansregional.com/sleep-care ###
