Naples, FL (May 24, 2018) – The Leadership Collier Foundation™ (LCF), an affiliate of The Greater Naples Chamber of Commerce, received a donation of over $20,000 in an endowment to benefit youth development in Collier County. The endowment was presented at the LCF graduation on April 27, 2018 at Artis—Naples where the Leadership Collier™ (LC) Class of 2018 presented Amanda Beights, vice president of the LCF, with the contribution. “The ‘Alumni of Leadership Collier Foundation -Youth Development Endowment Fund’ will be a permanent endowment, conceptualized and established by the leaders of the Leadership Collier Class of 2018 to ensure and enable the development of Collier County youth to become ethical leaders committed to active community involvement,” says LC 2018 graduate, Tom Houchin. “This endowment solidifies our commitment to youth development in Collier County,” says Amanda Beights. “While we are thrilled to reach about 30 students every year through Youth Leadership Collier™, we have always hoped to influence more. Receiving this donation will help us positively impact hundreds more students and strengthen their connection to Collier County. I am extremely appreciative and excited to see how we can continue to grow our programs and best support our future talent.” Recognizing the need to expand this work with community and business partners the Naples Chamber and LCF hired a Work-Based Learning Coordinator. In this unique position, the coordinator connects high school and college students to internships, part-time jobs, job shadows and other work-based learning experiences. The mission of the LCF is to build a broad-based network of community leaders who enhance their leadership abilities and skills through continuing education, shared perspectives and community involvement to enable them to work toward solutions in the public interest. The Foundation accomplishes this through its many programs: Leadership Collier™, Growing Associates in Naples™, Youth Leadership Collier™ (YLC), Emerging Leadership Council, Campaign for Leadership™ and the LCF Alumni Association™. YLC empowers students to become effective leaders through hands-on experiences and field work while encouraging career development in Collier County.
