Naples, Fla. (April 27, 2018) – IBERIABANK, a 131-year-old subsidiary of IBERIABANK Corporation, recently completed two paper shredding events in Collier County where over 16,000 pounds of old invoices, checks, blueprints and statements were collected for secure document shredding. The shred events, held on Marco Island on April 14 and in Naples on April 21, provided residents and small business owners with the opportunity to securely dispose of outdated paperwork. A voluntary donation of $3.00 per box or bag of paperwork was collected with 100% of the donations going to two Collier County charities. Books for Collier Kids received a $2,100 check from the Naples event. “This donation will enable our organization to distribute nearly 1,500 new books into the hands of 150 young children from low income families in our community,” said Ray Kalich, board member with Books for Collier Kids. “In doing so, we can help prevent illiteracy in our community and inspire a love of reading during the crucial developmental years. We are grateful to the support we received from IBERIABANK, their associates and the community during this fund raising event.” The Marco Island Post 404 American Legion received a $2,000 donation from funds raised at the Marco Island shred event. These funds will be used to purchase pavers at Veterans Park to honor deceased members. IBERIABANK will hold an additional community shred event in the fall of 2018.
