Naples, Florida, November 17th, 2017—Cancer Alliance of Naples releases the date of its annual Women Supporting Women Signature Luncheon for next year. The event will take place on Friday, March 2nd, 2018 at the Ritz Carlton Golf Resort in Naples. Proceeds will benefit this non-profit organization’s mission of helping families dealing with cancer, by assisting with rent payments, utilities, offering support sessions and much more. Founded in 2002, Cancer Alliance of Naples (www.cancerallianceofnaples.com) helps over 220 families in need annually, paying their non-medical bills, such as rent, utilities, gas, food and car, so that the cancer patients can focus on their treatment. Cancer Alliance of Naples pays these expenses while the patient is undergoing chemo or radiation to help ease the burden on the family. Other assistance offered by Cancer Alliance of Naples includes free group counseling, nutrition programs and college scholarships available to high school seniors who are cancer survivors. Cancer Alliance of Naples was formed by Naples residents who saw the need for this type of assistance in our Southwest Florida community, and made these opportunities possible through various fundraising events, including the Women Supporting Women Luncheon. This year’s Women Supporting Women Signature Luncheon theme is Flower Power: Fun, Fashion & Friends. It will be held from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. on Friday, March 2nd, and there are still many opportunities available to get involved, including becoming a sponsor and registering to be a table host. Andrea Gordon, Chairwoman of the event, speaks about Cancer Alliance of Naples and what this event means to the community and the cause. “Being able to give back to our community is crucial for our organization. Every year, we are humbled by the response that we receive from the residents of Southwest Florida that band together in order to help those in need. It’s truly an emotional journey for those who are benefited by this cause,” she says. Jodi Bisogno, Executive Director of Cancer Alliance of Naples touches on how important this event is to the group’s mission. “This event will bring awareness and crucial dollars to CAN, all going to support financial aid, programs and services for local children and adults battling cancer. We can't do it without the support of the community,” she says. About Cancer Alliance of Naples In 2002, a group of passion filled volunteers saw a grave need in our community to offer assistance to cancer stricken families and individuals whose lives were being turned upside down financially and emotionally. CAN was formed to help our neighbors and friends through the most difficult times anyone could imagine. Facing a world of unknowns and forced to make life changing medical decisions, as well as dealing with mounting pressures of everyday living expenses, CAN helps, when there is nowhere else to turn.
