NAPLES, Fla. – November 15, 2017 – Hodges University is pleased to announce the third annual Mah-Jongg Charity Tournament benefiting the Thelma Hodges Friends of the University Scholarship Fund. From 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Monday, January 8, 2018, Mah-Jongg players from Lee and Collier counties will convene on Hodges’ Naples campus to raise money for university students. Players will enjoy a continental breakfast sponsored by Golden Care before promptly beginning play at 9:00 a.m. At noon, participants will enjoy lunch provided by Jason’s Deli. In addition, players will have the opportunity to participate in a 50/50 raffle drawing. As chairperson, Thelma Hodges believes this event is an opportunity to help students further their education. “Hodges University is helping adult students reach their educational goals, and we can raise money for scholarships with a day of fun,” she said. The Thelma Hodges Friends of the University Scholarship Fund provides financial assistance to undergraduate students who are pursuing a degree from Hodges University. The scholarship is granted to students who demonstrate critical financial need. The cost is $50 per person and the deadline to register is December 15, 2017.
