Marco Island, November 14, 2017: - Marco Island Center for the Arts invites the public including all of our snow birds to view the work of the Art Center’s talented Clay Guild artists from December 4 – December 26, 2017, Monday thru Friday, 9:00 am – 4:00 pm. The exhibition will be on display in the Lauritzen & Rush Galleries. The opening reception called “2nd Tuesday” is from 5:30 – 7:00 pm on December 12th. Many of the Clay Guild artists will be present. No reservations are required. There is a suggested $10 donation for non-members. Started in 2010 as a Christmas show, this popular exhibition will have at least 15 Clay Guild artists participating with over 200 pieces available for sale. Items can be purchased during the show and taken home. From traditional to contemporary, from funky decorative arts to functional ware, and holiday-themed items – this is the time for gifting. In honor of all birders from near and far, the exhibition will highlight at least 30 bird-themed entries that will absolutely delight you. Perfect for the ornithologist in your life! Clay Guild event chairperson Janet DeAnna said “These are one-of-a-kind gifts for the one-of-a-kind person. This is the very best work from guild members.” “Shop Local, Shop Art at Marco Island Center for the Arts” said the Center’s Executive Director Hyla Crane. DeAnna said all the wares are hand built and wheel thrown. Functional items are nontoxic and food, oven and dishwasher safe. In the La Petite Galerie, Naples artist Josey Prior’s printmaking will be displayed. Her art work is inspired by what grows and lives around her home.
