Naples, Fla.— Artis—Naples’ board of directors announced a new board chair and six new members. The appointments were effective on July 1. Kimberly K. Querrey was named to a three-year term as board chair. Querrey joined the board in 2012 and has been a member of the executive committee since 2014, serving on the investment and nominations and governance committees. She succeeds Ned Lautenbach who served five years in the role. Lautenbach continues on the board and now serves as chair of its executive committee. Artis—Naples’ board of directors is comprised of 34 philanthropists and community leaders who oversee the organization’s governance. The new board members are as follows: ALAN R. EINHORN Alan Einhorn was chief quality officer and vice-chairman of Deloitte Tax LLP, one of the “Big Four” accounting firms in the US, before retiring to Southwest Florida in 2016. In his 40-year accounting career, Einhorn won the Arthur J. Dixon Memorial Award—the highest honor given in the taxation field—and served in a number of IRS and Treasury Department liaison roles, including serving on the IRS Commissioner’s Advisory Group. Einhorn graduated with an accounting degree from the University of Maryland and a J.D. from George Washington University Law School. JEANETTE MONTGOMERY EVERT Jeanette Montgomery Evert is the retired CEO and owner of the Spectrum Communications Group in Toronto, a corporate communications firm that provided services to major companies in the financial, pharmaceutical, energy and technology industries. A graduate of the Harvard School of Business, Evert is active in its alumni associations and serves on a board that reviews and critiques student projects. She is also an active literacy advocate, serving on boards of several organizations in Florida and Pennsylvania. DAVID H. HOFFMANN David H. Hoffmann is the founder of Osprey Capital, LLC, a substantial private equity firm, which includes executive recruiting firm DHR International and Hoffmann Commercial Real Estate, the largest owner of commercial real estate in Naples, Fla. Hoffmann serves on the board of directors of the Olin School of Business at Washington University, the Steppenwolf Theatre Company, Evanston Northwestern Healthcare Foundation and the Contemporary Art Museum St. Louis, where he served as board chairman. Hoffmann is a trustee for the Naples Children & Education Foundation. LISA H. LIPMAN Lisa H. Lipman is an attorney and partner at Roetzel & Andress, where she focuses on estate and tax planning, estate administration, trust administration and Florida domicile planning. Her clients include national banks and other corporate fiduciaries as well as individuals and families. A graduate of Union College, Lipman has a master’s degree from Northwestern University and a law degree from Boston College. She is vice president of the Collier County Women’s Bar Association and the former president of the Naples International Film Festival, which she successfully helped merge with Artis—Naples in 2017. DENNIS M.J. TURNER Dennis Turner is a former United Nations administrator who became a successful management consultant and entrepreneur. Turner helped found, finance, build and, when it made sense, took public a series of international companies in health care and pharmaceutical information/services. The most successful, IMS International operated in just under 100 countries. Prior to moving to Naples in 2007, Turner and his partners built a group of oil field rehabilitation and exploration businesses operating in Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan. He is a passionate supporter of the Naples Philharmonic and attends nearly all of its performances. JERRY J. WEYGANDT Jerry J. Weygandt was a chaired professor of accounting and information systems in the School of Business at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. A Ph.D. in accounting from the University of Illinois, Weygandt is best known in academic circles for his ten major textbooks in the fields of financial accounting and managerial accounting, including Financial Accounting—Tools for Business Decision-Making (with two co-authors), which is the mostly widely used introduction to accounting textbook. He has served as the secretary-treasurer and president of the American Accounting Association and was the first academic elected to the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants standards setting body. The Wall Street Journal says van Bergen and Boreyko have ushered in “an impressive new phase” for classical music in Southwest Florida. THE NAPLES PHILHARMONIC The Naples Philharmonic has long been recognized as one of the cornerstones of Southwest Florida’s arts community. As the resident orchestra of Artis—Naples, the Naples Philharmonic performs more than 140 orchestral and chamber music concerts, as well as opera and ballet, education, community and special event concerts annually between September and June in the 1,477-seat Hayes Hall, the 283-seat Daniels Pavilion and around the Southwest Florida region. In 2009, Jack Everly was named Principal Pops Conductor and continues today in that role bringing pops performances that celebrate music in its many forms. In 2017, Romanian conductor Radu Paponiu was named Assistant Conductor of the Naples Philharmonic and director of the Naples Philharmonic Youth Orchestra. THE BAKER MUSEUM The Baker Museum is one of the foremost fine arts museums in Southwest Florida. The museum hosts several traveling exhibitions annually to complement installations of works from its permanent collections. Comprising more than 4,000 objects, the Museum’s broad holdings of 20th and 21st century art reflect the generosity and commitment of area collectors.
