NAPLES, Fla. – August 7, 2017 – In an effort to keep individuals in Southwest Florida abreast of the issues associated with identity theft, Hodges University’s Identity Fraud Institute will host a special luncheon, “Combating Identity Fraud Two Years Later,” on October 3 from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Hodges’ Naples campus. Individuals who attend the luncheon will hear from local, state and national representatives on the issues of identity theft and data breach. This year’s presenters include Commissioner Adam Putnam, Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services; Senator Kathleen Passidomo, The Florida Senate, District 28; Sheriff Kevin Rambosk, Collier County Sheriff’s Office; Dr. Aysegul Timur, senior vice president of academic affairs and dean of the Johnson School of Business at Hodges University; and Carrie Kerskie, director of the Identity Fraud Institute at Hodges University. Launching in 2015, the Identity Fraud Institute hosted an inaugural luncheon to discuss the identity theft epidemic, what is being done to combat it, as well as its economic impact in Florida. Two years later, in 2017, Southwest Florida leaders are coming together to provide an update on the matter. The title sponsor for this year’s event is CenturyLink.
