Fort Myers, Fla. (June 21, 2017)— Local general contractor DeAngelis Diamond has recently completed the renovation of accident survivor Danielle Hagmann’s home to be wheelchair accessible. In April of this year, Hagmann was driving on I-75 north of Fort Myers, FL. She stopped to help an accident victim and while helping, was struck by another vehicle from behind, severing both of her legs. Hagmann’s medical bills are expected to reach $2 million throughout her lifetime, with the immediate need of two prosthetic legs, a powered wheelchair, therapy, medical care, and a renovation of her house to make it wheelchair accessible. With no cost to Hagmann, DeAngelis Diamond renovated the survivor’s home providing wheelchair accommodations. The renovation included: •The entire master bedroom and bathroom, three bedroom doors, pantry closet and laundry room were removed •Multiple walls moved •Plumbing and electric changed •New door casings and baseboards installed to accommodate larger door frames •Necessary floor leveling Double doors/pocket door added throughout house •Washer and dryer relocation •Newly painted walls •New flooring •Concrete pad and ramp for easy access from house to automobile •New front door and entryway •Remodeling of kitchen with shorter cabinets and larger walkway DeAngelis Diamond team members B.J.
