Bonita Springs, FL – 6/14/17 — Join more than 4,500 children, women and men at Cambier Park, Park Street Naples, at 8 a.m. on Saturday, November 4, 2017, for the Collier Heart Walk and help raise awareness and funds to fight America’s #1 and #5 killers – heart disease and stroke. The non-competitive, three-mile walk is free (no registration fee; donations encouraged), open to all age groups and pet-friendly. Activities start at 8 a.m. with the Walk following at 9 a.m. Walkers, runners and strollers are welcome to enjoy: · Pet friendly with treats and water stations designed especially for four-legged walkers (leashed pets welcome) · Sponsor booths · Heart-health information and snacks · Giveaways · Support Network information This year’s Chair is Pete Tuffo, Suffolk Construction. Funds raised allow the American Heart Association/American Stroke Association to provide professional and community education, as well as critical research yielding medical advances such as cardiac catheterization, open-heart surgery, angioplasty, pacemakers and CPR. Research has shown walking to be the single most effective form of exercise to achieve ideal cardiovascular health. Walking 30 minutes a day can improve critical numbers like weight, blood pressure and cholesterol.
